Alpine's Commitment

Alpine Consulting believes in giving back to the community.  Our employees are actively involved in helping to raise funds to help find a cure for both Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy.  Alpine Consulting is also dedicated to contributing resources and support to MS and MD, as well as those afflicted with MS or MD and their families throughout the year. Our involvement includes participating in cycling events, running marathons and half marathons, as well as triathlons across the country.

We have helped raise nearly $530,000 to date for:

National MS Society (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/)
Greater Illinois Chapter of the MS Society (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/ILD/home/)
Muscular Dystrophy Association (http://www.mda.org)
Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (http://www.parentprojectmd.org)

About Multiple Sclerosis - Learn More >> http://www.nationalmssociety.org/

MS is thought to be an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves. Surrounding and protecting the nerve fibers of the CNS is a fatty tissue called myelin, which helps nerve fibers conduct electrical impulses. In MS, myelin is lost in multiple areas, leaving scar tissue called sclerosis. These damaged areas are also known as plaques or lesions. Sometimes the nerve fiber itself is damaged or broken. Myelin not only protects nerve fibers, but makes their job possible. When myelin or the nerve fiber is destroyed or damaged, the ability of the nerves to conduct electrical impulses to and from the brain is disrupted, and this produces the various symptoms of MS.

About Muscular Dystrophy - Learn More >> http://www.mda.org

"Muscular Dystrophy" is a broad term used to label gene-related disorders that affect muscles throughout the body. There are more than 20 specific genetic disorders considered to be Muscular Dystrophy. Most have the same result (a reduction in muscle strength due to weakening and deterioration) but these various types of Muscular Dystrophies are specific to different muscles in the body and different rates of degeneration.

Unfortunately, we do have a personal connection to MD but we are trying to make a difference and hope you would consider joining us. You may donate to our team in order to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy by clicking on the following link: Help Stop MD

If you're interested in joining us by being part of our team, please email us at jsiok@alpineinc.com or sduda@alpineinc.com. We and those suffering from MS and MD would be thrilled to have you take part in finding a cure.
